Project Overview

This pool and landscape construction project in Noosa involved the complete transformation of a tired outdoor area into a refined coastal retreat designed for entertaining, relaxation, and modern beachside living. Following the renovation of the home, the clients wanted the outdoor spaces to reflect the same clean and contemporary “Noosa” aesthetic through the use of light natural materials, lush tropical landscaping, and seamless indoor-outdoor connectivity.

Scope of Works

The project included demolition of the existing pool and surrounding structures, new concrete pool construction with a feature glass window and beach-entry zone, limestone tiling, retaining walls, front boundary walls, concrete feature stairs, outdoor shower construction, tropical landscaping, automated irrigation and drainage systems, feature lighting, turf installation, and complete landscape construction for this Sunshine Coast property.

Construction Challenges

The project presented several significant construction challenges, beginning with the complete demolition and removal of the existing pool, sandstone retaining walls, timber decking, and front boundary fencing. Positioned on a steep sloping block with approximately 3.2 metres of fall between the house and driveway, careful planning was required to balance privacy, functionality, visual impact, and council compliance throughout the Landscape design and construction process.

Achieving the correct finished pool height was critical to maintaining privacy from the street while ensuring seamless connectivity between the home and outdoor spaces. The pool structure itself required fully boxed formwork, multiple concrete pours, piers, and structural footings integrated with surrounding boundary walls for additional strength and stability.

Additional complexity was created by restricted access and the need to work alongside an existing finished driveway, requiring staged construction sequencing throughout the project.

Materials & Finishes

A refined palette of Patara limestone tiling, rendered block walls, tropical planting, architectural lighting, and soft coastal tones was used throughout the project to create a clean and timeless Noosa-inspired aesthetic. The pool interior featured a light glass bead pebble finish designed to complement the limestone surrounds while creating a fresh resort-style feel.

A standout feature of the project was the custom pool window positioned along the driveway entry, creating a strong visual connection between the entrance of the property and the pool itself. Beach-entry lounging areas, ambient LED strip lighting, and lush tropical planting further reinforced the relaxed coastal atmosphere throughout the outdoor spaces.

Outcome

The completed project delivers a highly functional and visually cohesive outdoor environment that seamlessly integrates pool construction, landscaping, and architectural detailing throughout the property. Through the careful balancing of engineering requirements, site constraints, and premium material selections, the project successfully transformed a steep and outdated site into a refined coastal retreat tailored to relaxed Noosa living.
