Project Overview

This complete pool renovation and landscape construction project in Alexandra Headland was originally driven by the clients’ desire to restore privacy and rejuvenate their outdoor living areas following neighbouring construction that introduced significant overlooking into the backyard. The project evolved into a full outdoor transformation focused on creating a more functional, private, and visually cohesive environment suited to relaxed coastal living.

Scope of Works

The project included a full pool area renovation, custom spa installation, structural landscaping, stone-clad planter boxes, extensive outdoor tiling, integrated decking, custom roof and trellis construction, feature planting, garden lighting, and complete landscape construction throughout the property.

Construction Challenges

One of the key design and construction challenges involved addressing the existing faux rock waterfall feature within the original pool area. Rather than complete removal, a more considered approach was taken to soften and visually integrate the structure into the new landscape design through layered planting, stone-clad planter boxes, and carefully balanced material selections.

The installation of the new spa also required detailed planning and coordination, with the spa craned into position before construction of the surrounding decking, tiling, and custom privacy structure. The roof and trellis system was specifically designed to provide increased privacy from neighbouring properties while maintaining an open, lightweight aesthetic that complemented the coastal character of the home.

Materials & Finishes

A refined palette of natural stone cladding, large-format tiling, timber decking, and lush subtropical planting was used throughout the project to create a cohesive outdoor environment with a relaxed coastal aesthetic. Integrated garden lighting further enhances the usability and atmosphere of the space while highlighting key landscape features throughout the evening.

Outcome

The completed outdoor environment now provides a highly functional and private retreat tailored to both entertaining and everyday living. Through the integration of pool renovation and landscaping for the Sunshine Coast, structural elements, and planting, the project successfully transformed a previously exposed and outdated backyard into a refined coastal outdoor space designed for long-term enjoyment and lifestyle value.
