This luxury canal-front landscape design and installation project in Mooloolaba was delivered for one of the Sunshine Coast’s most prestigious waterfront residences , a home that later achieved a record-breaking $17 million sale, setting a new benchmark for canal-front property in the region.

Working alongside the home’s striking contemporary architecture, the landscape design was carefully developed to soften the strong structural lines of the residence while enhancing its connection to the waterfront setting. The result is a refined outdoor environment that balances architectural form with lush, layered planting and a relaxed coastal atmosphere.

Scope of Works

The project included large-scale landscape installation works featuring layered tropical planting, rooftop garden installation, mature Pandanus palm placement, detailed soft landscaping, feature garden integration, automated irrigation systems, and complete landscape installation throughout the waterfront property.

Design Challenges

A key focus throughout the project was creating balance between the bold architectural form of the residence and the softer landscape elements surrounding it. The planting design required careful consideration to ensure the landscaping enhanced the home’s visual presence without overwhelming the clean lines and contemporary material palette of the architecture.

Particular attention was given to layering, plant selection, texture, and scale to create depth and softness throughout the outdoor spaces while maintaining uninterrupted sightlines across the waterfront setting.

One of the project’s standout features involved the installation of sculptural Pandanus palms within the rooftop gardens. Due to the scale and positioning of the advanced trees, craning operations and careful coordination were required to position the feature planting accurately while protecting surrounding architectural elements.

Materials & Planting Palette

A refined palette of layered tropical planting, architectural Pandanus palms, sculptural greenery, was used throughout the project to create a sophisticated resort-inspired atmosphere, Extensive automated irrigation systems were integrated throughout the landscape to support the establishment and long-term health of the advanced planting palette while ensuring efficient water management across the property.
