This commercial project was set in a brand new over 50’s resort style living on the Sunshine Coast nestled into a lush tropical rainforest area of Buderim.
The recreational centre was created for a centralised communal area for the resort.
This area consists of many different design elements surrounding the pool area and rec centre with a natural approach to blend the building and landscaping into the lovely bush surrounds.
A dry creek bed runs between parts of the buildings and with massive glass windows it becomes a central feature for the entire Rec centre while actually working as an overflow for all roof and building drainage pipes .
The bridge forms an area where people can stop and take in the surrounds as the dry creek bed winds under it. Tropical gardens blend the forest with the building while creating that tropical rainforest feel.
When using stone on the building we had to match the existing stone used throughout the resort, we used an Eco outdoors Coolum stone including internal and external walls and also a fireplace.
