Working with both the designer and also the builder on this project we were able to create outdoor livable areas which were both functional and also utilising the amazing outlook and views across the coast .

12 m of fall over the entire site made this project extremely challenging, not only to create flat usable areas and to link the spaces together but also to crane all required materials up to each area.

With two teenage children a traditional open back yard was not achievable therefore a kids retreat area was designed to give extra space and a usable outdoor area which was hidden away by the use of larger palms and plants. This area consists of recycled timber seating around a firepit, a viewing platform to check the surf and an undercover seating area for reading homework etc and synthetic grass to lazz about on.

To simplify the maintenance of this project a cloud based irrigation system was installed. This system has a flow sensor to measure all water used, weather station to assist with smart watering measuring humidity, wind and temperature.
